as i was eating lunch in the bad local vegetarian cafe today, a lady was walking her little baby around the cafe, i don't know what age she (the baby) was, old enough to walk with the help of a steadying parental hand, so pretty young. baby was having fun walking around, until she caught a glimpse of yours truly, at which point she stopped in her tracks and stared at me in outright baby wonder. this isn't really unusual, babies are always completely fascinated with me for some reason, but this one wouldn't let mama take her away for a long time. i assume they were tourists from Denmark, because mama kept talking to baby in Dutch, and baby built up enough courage to overcome her mesmerization and say "tag tag" to me, which the mother said is a friendly salutation.
mother said she wonders what babies see in certain people sometimes. i said babies are frequently enamored of me, but when they get to be older they don't want to have anything to do with me.
Evelyn quit !!!!!!!!
YYYYESSSSSsssss!!!
i'm so happy. finally! apparently she didn't like me not liking her freaking out at me every month.
good riddance.
her recent ex-b.friend was pretty happy about the news too.
there was a definite levity about the plant today.
i tried not to appear TOO joyous.

Date: 2001-07-10 06:11 pm (UTC)most babies don't really get up the courage to say anything to me, (if old enough) or to come up to me and poke me or something -- they just stare, enraptured.
good riddance!

Date: 2001-07-10 06:17 pm (UTC)the other one's worse, cause she's my boss, and she used to be a pretty good friend.
i don't talk about her much in the journal, cause our problems are more personal, and thus much more hairy.
however it is VERY weird adjusting to not having E. around! i am realizing all the little things i did to avoid her, and tiptoe around her, etc., etc.
today, i had the priveledge of telling a few of the co-workers that she's quit. they didn't know if she'd just been sick or what.
it really cheered up my pal Eusevio who was all distraught 'cause some lady totalled his car yesterday.
oh, happy days.
