Krautrock -- you should hear Faust's first album. I like it.

Radiohead -- not even "Paranoid Android"?

XTC -- I dislike _Skylarking_. I /HATE/ _Apple Venus Part 1_. They lost all their edge after _The Big Express_, IMO.

I like all Beatles, despite myself. I cannot explain it. You should hear "I'll Be Back" and "Another Girl" before you dismiss their pre-_Rubber Soul_ material, though.

i've heard some faust, i liked what i heard.
they're another krautrock band i'm hoping to research when i get the hair...

radiohead... something about that guy's voice just ruins it for me.

XTC... oh, you like the punkier, lively stuff. that was good too. do you have "the english settlement"?
it's good like that.
i on the other hand LOVE apple venus vol. 1 AND skylarking. that's the good stuff.

i don't discount ALL early beatles, some of it was intriguing,
but slogging through all those midtempo 12bar blues riffs and head shaking "oohs"
is a bit too much for me to go through.
they got much more consistantly interesting after RS.
Sgt Peppers was my favorite album in the entire world when i was 8
i would come home and eat dinner listening to it,
and then listen to it a couple more times before going to bed.

radiohead -- oh. well, then, don't listen to neutral milk hotel. jeff mangum is even more irritating than thom yorke. (of course, i love him, but...)

xtc -- i only have _the big express_, but _english settlement_ and _black sea_ are somewhere on my get-eventually list...

beatles -- i don't ever find them consistent. every album has something i dislike on it, except for the american release of rubber soul (which replaced "drive my car" and "what goes on" with "i've just seen a face" and "it's only love"). my favorite is _revolver_, but even there, i hate "yellow submarine." _sgt pepper's_, too... what's with "she's leaving home"? ew!

anyway, there's a huge difference between "please please me" and "help!". they evolved with every release, except maybe the first two or three, which i don't know much about.

also picked up a muslimgauze ltd. ed. CD "kashmiri queens" (bliss!)

yay! Andrew is a friend of mine. I don't get to talk to him much these days though. It's because of him I met my Danish boy, they worked together for almost a year I think it was. Not that you really care, I just like seeing when people know who he is.

I can ask him where he might think it could be gotten. I'd wager my danish boy has it but even if I could talk him into making a copy it'd just be a burn. I know A had him copy Fuck and a few other things for me to get an idea of what he was about after I met him. I'll poke around for some info. A sometimes knows what's out there where.

i've heard about that CD disintegration problem.
pretty nasty stuff.
i wonder how widespread a problem it is and if they have it fixed with the new CDs coming out?
i think i first heard about that on Coil's website.

not a problem. He was telling me about how a lot of labels screw the artists by not even letting them have the master tapes back. Especially when it's a lesser known artist, which explains his lack of copies. I'm sure not many artists run out and buy their own releases typically anyway. Next time I talk to him I'll try to remember to ask about rerelases, though if he knew of an upcoming one for Kill The King he probably would have mentioned it. Though it's worth asking. Maybe it'll inspire pushing to get some more stuff redone.

He's a cool guy. If you want to know where to find him online I can pass you the info by email just let me know.

'killers' is totally catchy and great.
this is another album (like i mentioned above in another comment)
that i hated at first
(because it wasn't HARD enough(tee hee))
but ended up loving.
now i don't have a copy and i wanna hear that shit!

quite a list - ranging from balls to the freakin walls metal to floating in space ambient.

low 'things we lost...' is a wonderful album. have that coil on dubbed cassette somewhere...has a funny spoken word track about chili in ohio (or some shit). my fave rachel's is 'sea and the bells' (with 'selenography' second) 'sea' has a more consistent lush and dark feel to it, 'seleno' has more variation (personally, i'd advice to avoid their first effort 'handwriting' at least until you've delved into their work a bit more...as i find it to be rather basic by comparison). 'ohm' is a very nifty "starter kit" type of box set...some good stuff (though the "edit" tracks can be a bit annoying), but can be worth it...as it is a very well put together collection and booklet.

that judas priest one is their second album, i think...
anyway it's more of an art-fag record than a heavy metal one.

i didn't end up liking that particular Low record, i sold it --
but i love some of their earlier stuff. that one ended up sounding too...
uh, Carpenter's-ish or something like that.

i have read that about the 'Ohm' collection,
and since i know very little about most of that very important group of musicians,
i thought it would be the perfect starter for me.

Rachels - i think "the Sea and Bells" record is the one i've heard that prompted my interest.
