attempting to not feel too melancholy. (shouldn't fight it, ACCEPTANCE!)
especially because tensions at work are at an all time high. which IS saying a lot.
got to maintain cool. stay relaxed.
took a walk with my dad today, he got winded really quickly, which was a little alarming for me, but we trudged on for quite a while.
we saw the most enormous red belted polypore i've ever seen!
it was huge. probably weighed about 30 or 40 pounds.
that type of conk is so common around these parts, they look like goblins of our woods.
caerie and i drove hwy 7 into lyons, which i haven't done for about 13 or 14 years.
it's so nice going different ways to get out of our mountains.
seeing the granite disappear under the philadelphia sandstone layers all bent upwards. the transition is beautiful no matter where you come out of the rockies.
and to think that most people miss that...
"oh, it's all just rock."
i think most people miss most of the beauty available for them to admire.
