They Came Back
Oct. 14th, 2005 06:43 pmwe rented a movie that we watched last night called Les Revenants a.k.a They Came Back, (or via Greencine)
which is a sci-fi zombie flick of a completely different stripe. the dead come back to life, and they don't want to kill or eat brains or anything, they're just simply back, and the living have to figure out what to do with them, and have to deal with the emotional issues of reintegrating someone into their lives who they've already emotionally let go.
it's not scary at all, it's just very quietly creepy. very slow moving, and extremely melancholy, with a mournful ambient soundtrack. i could see it being very boring to some people... refer to the reviews on the greencine page linked above.
it wasn't a mindblowingly good movie or anything, but i thought it was very unique, and i enjoyed it quite a lot, i know there are a few of you out there that would enjoy it a lot too. you might not hear about it elsewhere, so heed my recommendation! beeyoches.
