thin, man.
Oct. 13th, 2005 07:54 pmi wish i were Nick Charles. minus the drinking, of course. who needs to drink that much?
but to be that suave and cool, and also get to bed down with the ultra HOTT Myrna Loy.
GULP!

i decided to queue up the new DVD releases of the Thin Man movies on my greencine queue. i sure do love that first movie a lot. it's funny as shit.
it's weird that the movie was so popular while depicting the upper crusties and their wanton-yet-charming, devil-may-care attitude while at the same time the Great Depression was raging. the movie was released the same year this song was recorded. (an imbedded mystery download!)
amazing that the culture of this little country has changed so radically in only 70 years. it's like another world now. no one acts like they used to anymore. pity.
of course we could get back to those times, since a return to laissez-faire seems to be the order of the day.
i'm kinda looking forward to seeing the very last Thin Man movie, since it was released the same year (1947) as our house was built!

Some perfect wife I am", she said, referring to her typecasting. "I've been married four times, divorced four times, have no children, and can't boil an egg".
