When considering an undertaking…

look at your motivation, clearly & dispassionately & impartially, as if towards your closest friend or brother. why does he want this? what necessity does it hold for him?

if this is necessary for him, it will be possible. if this is to get him something he wants for himself, it will be very hard.

We rarely allow ourselves the time to digest our experience. Sometimes illness gives us an enforced opportunity.

A pal e-mailed me in response to an article in The New York Times > Week in Review > Here to Stay: Balding Rockers and Big Mo: "Where the real money is made in music." My pal comments to me it begs the Q: Where are the Lennons, Hendrix, Mozarts of today? Present and unheard/unrecognized? Or perhaps, at a more base level, something in the world has shifted, such that we don't have the Newtons, DaVincis, or Einsteins, etc. either.
