Some completely random thoughts....

Classic Rock lives and breathes in Cleveland. I could find those kids in a heartbeat.

In my opinion, Classic Rock covers the years 1971 through 1980, as that's when a vast number of bands that were once absolutely brilliant in the late 60s [The Who, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Pink Floyd, The Move (who became ELO), and sooo many more] turned into bloated horrific beasts intent on moving pompous, 'complex' product rather than dishing out inspiring, heartfelt quality music. I would not consider The Beatles as falling under any musical category, especially Classic Rock; they are their own musical category.

Fact: I once heard Brian Eno's 'Driving Me Backwards' on a Classic Rock station (it was a request, and I think the DJ was confused.)

Fact: our local Cleveland Classic Rock station plays Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain" (one of the greatest songs ever committed to vinyl) every Saturday night at 11:45 PM. That is the only time I ever tune in.

Emerson Lake and Palmer should have been drawn and quartered at their conception, but "Lucky Man" is a fantastic song.

10CC, who poured out complete dreck like "I'm Not in Love", were once the backing band for a man who called himself Rameses and claimed to be a reincarnated Egyptian prince. Their music was crazed acid folk imbued with cryptic lyrics and was rather cool.

Neil Young is fantastic.

Ted Nugent is absolutely dire, then and now.

King Crimson, of course, rocks, even though Fripp is one of the world's biggest assholes along with Frank "I'm so fucking jazz I can play this song with my hands tied behind my back" Zappa.

Even Pink Floyd's Meddle has some quality tracks, but that was their last good album.

I'm grateful for college radio, that's all I know.
