CIPP

A company called Insituform is doing CIPP (in place sewer pipe repair done with a resin soaked fabric) two blocks down. No bad smell in our house, but it's pretty much unbearably strong down there. I'm glad I don't live on that block, and I'm pretty peeved that the city didn't let us know this was going on.

I'd imagine being in the houses right next to where they're doing it would make living there pretty unpleasant. I wouldn't be able to handle it. I have strong aversion to solvent/resin type smells.

I'm hoping they're not doing our block next.

Scare

For a couple of hours today wifey and I were freaking out. We still haven't heard from Cheyo, but we figured that everything went fine otherwise surely we'd have heard.

We heard a rumor today that he'd been detained and was in one of the immigration gulags, where they hold you for months pending deportation. Another person I knew from a job a long while back, a very nice lady named Elena was put in one of these. It was pretty much a prison type situation, in which she saw someone murdered in cold blood in front of her.

I tried calling Cheyo at home, and his phone appears to be disconnected.

I finally got in contact with his brother and found out everything's fine, it was just a rumor. They have their phone disconnected while changing services. Everything's alright.

Gossip and rumors... bah.

LOST

I've resigned myself to Kate and Sawyer and Jack...

but in the name of all that is good, please let Sayid get killed! I cannot STAND his character, and that fake accent makes me want to yank out my own tongue so that I never make sounds like that on accident.
