The more I listen to Coil, the more I realize that they can't be judged based on a single song, nor a single release... they're a band that needs to be evaluated based on a broad arc of work.

I think maybe the same thing is true of any very prolific artist. Muslimgauze springs to mind. You sure as shit can't figure out Muslimgauze with one record. Nor ten.

I wonder if the very prolific Drone Forest falls into the same category. I'm too close to tell.
