first words of the day
Mar. 6th, 2007 06:50 pmFor a very long time, I've amused myself by noticing the first words to come out of my mouth in the morning. When I first wake up, my brain doesn't function really well (whose does?), and so I try to avoid speaking for as long as I can, and so the first thing I actually speak on any given day is often either a surprised response to something unexpected, or a reluctant response to a query... and it's usually funny or stupid or both.
For a while, in January, I was keeping track of the first words to come out of my mouth on a little notebook in the bedroom, but I stopped doing this, because knowing that I was going to write down anything I said made me too aware of what I was saying... does that make sense? Documenting the project compromised the integrity of the project.

With that caveat, here is the list I compiled, before abandoning it:
- 1/5 - Is there a lot of snow out there?
- 1/8 - Uh oh, you're stuck.
- 1/9 - You want him to get you
- 1/11 - Bank.
- 1/16 - Sorry I poked you in the eye.
- 1/17 - Like clams?
- 1/18 - I doubt the dump would've been closed.
- 1/19 - How am I getting hairs all over it?
