Yay

I get the day off.

I'm going to sit around and get fat and watch Wimbledon.
It's Baghdadis vs. Murray right now. I like Murray so far, he's so calm seeming. Maybe that's cause he was playing that freak-case Roddick.

I haven't seen Baghdadis play before, to my memory.

It was sad seeing Agassi's last match, that mofo can PLAY the tennis. His style is consistently entertaining.

Anyone else watching tennis?

I'm elated that Drone Forest is active again.

I'm using all new software, including a new audio editor that has lots of VST effects, and Cubase, which I'm starting to figure out, and which also has lots of DSP stuff. Cubase is really clunky, but it beats my old multitracker (MetaTrack -- an old, old version that I had to load on OS 9) by a long shot.

Today I worked on my first full on Cubase project, a very noisy piece. The very fact that it's so noisy is pretty satisfying... I've never worked on stuff that as upfront noisy as this before... I'm outside my comfort zone. Working title is "Sarcophagus" That last piece I did, "Iodine" will probably be the last piece I do in MetaTrack.

I also uploaded a bunch of sound sources for the group; mostly dry vocals.
One of the vocal recordings I later ran through a ton of delay and reverb, and I think it's quite pretty to listen to all by itself. Here it is: faun (Sorry, it's all gone now...)
