to-do

i have a list of things i plan to-do over the little vacation that wifey and i will be taking next week:

since i probably can't remember everything, maybe i'll update this entry when i think of anything else, and strike through when i finish?? dunno.

• make tamales. this needs to happen sooner than later, since i intend to make them for my family's get together on Sunday. i am co-opting someone else's tradition, for i have none of my own.


• rake the yard. jeez, i'm such a lazy tard. i only did about 20% of the raking during Autumn time. we have big trees, and we live right next to the town's middle school, so we get lots of leaves and trash in the yard. the yard's an absolute disaster right now.


• paint the bedroom. the bedroom's been in a partially painted state for well over a year now. some previous owner of the house painted over some hideously ugly wallpaper, which made it impossible to remove, and also made it impossible to paint over without wallpaper seamlines showing through. my workaround is to cut the seamlines out, then plaster over the cuts, sand... and then paint the room. it was either that, or tear out the sheetrock, and screw that.


• record at least two songs. apparently, i don't do music anymore. i ought to change that.


• make some sort of progress on the kitchen. painting may occur. shopping for wood paneling will definitely occur.


• work on the buckle that was commissioned by WeHeCo. i've put it off for a couple of weeks now, partially due to business, partially due to laziness, partially because i'm kinda intimidated by this one. it's a leopard, and for some reason making a leopard seems like it's going to be outrageously difficult.


• get rid of that old car. it doesn't work. it won't pass emissions. i haven't driven it more than 15 miles in the last two years. why do i still have it? it's going to be donated to a charity: a public radio station, as a matter of fact.


• do something just for fun with the wifey. what do you want to do wifey? go to the art museum? butterfly pavilion? ocean journey? the poodle museum? all of the above and more?


• clean the garage. this may also include making a work area in there. i've got some ideas, about which i need to talk with wifey.


• perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...? get started on that art idea??? maybe? possibly? take one small step toward world domination through visual art? possibly, maybe, definite, might? almost, i promise?


• write my end of year music wrap-up post. everyone else is already done with theirs. i have notes taken, but no writing done. i'll probably post it on a Saturday or Sunday, so no one will read it, just like i always do with the posts that take me a long time. maybe i'll do it on xmas day, and then wonder why i got no comments.


• other than the above, generally avoid the internet and LJ as much as possible, allowing for a few sporadic, brief, passionate encounters from time to time.


• finally learn how to sell shit on ebay?
