i tried not to get too excited about this show, because bauhaus were one of my top favorite bands when i was young, and they still exert a big influence on me now... having never seen them live, if i'd gotten too worked up about this, it was bound to be a let down.

while it wasn't the show of the century or anything, it was certainly very satisfying. they didn't play any new material, which i half expected them to do... i thought they might be working on something, would've have been very exciting if they had.

the sound was effing incredible, the band was laid back and kinda lazily "tight"... and though the set was of the crowd-pleasing "best of" variety, they did pull out a few good surprises (see previous post for setlist)

we arrived a little late, (they were already playing) which is kind of a bummer, but eh...

Kevin Haskins, though! holy shit! i love the way that guy plays the drums.

and of course, we did, as per the usual, end up stuck next to the most annoying bastards in the venue... in this case a couple of extremely drunk, gargantuan jock dudes in leather jackets screaming along so loudly that we couldn't hear the band at times, and lurching agressively into everyone around them. fuckers.

inspired by last night's concert...

this week's mystery download is brought to you by the letter "MU MU"
it was a mash up from before there were "mash up"s:
get it here, get it now

'cause "right now, right now, right now... we're going to... KICK OUT THE JAMS MOTHERFUCKER!!"
