Aug. 7th, 2005 08:27 pmfor some weird reason this old song is fascinating to me right now.
it was recorded the same year that my wonderful wife was born (who celebrates her birthday tomorrow).
the song is based on essentially a standard blues-rock riff, in which the traditional chord progression has been fucked with.
at one time this might have been considered subversive.
all that is subversive will eventually become quaint.
and it doesn't matter if you subvert or quaintify, as long as you have vim.
and i still can't explain why i am so enamored of this song, but i know it will bug you! :P

Aug. 7th, 2005 08:31 pmyou know... someone could conceivably make it an art project to make their life an example of the Christ-ian way to be a Christian. it would be so different that it would have to get some attention.
the Christians have set up such a convoluted and regimented social structure -- it's begging to be brought down from within.
