vuzh: seven (Lewis Matlock and Amanda Bell)
dropped off the car at the shop for a diagnosis (turns out the front wheel bearing's turning sour) and on the walk back home, i stopped off at a yard sale at the old Foursqaure church. they had some incredibly neat speakers that i wanted, but i didn't get them, instead i picked up a Washburn MCX:14 multi-voice chorus stomp pedal and a rusty Norelco EL-6031/56 microphone on an flex-adjustable stand, that has obviously seen a lot of years use at the pulpit.
i haven't plugged either of them in yet, but don't expect anything too stunning. still, for the price of a cheap toy, you can't pass up stuff like that.

meanwhile, it's 'Berthoud Day', and i was tempted to go down for a pancake breffist, but we din't.

i walked over to Fickel Park and watched the parade though. i like seeing the old fire engines... there were two American LaFrance's and a 1923 Staughton. i talked with the guy who brought the Staughton, who pronounced it "stooten". he said that he put an automatic V8 in the thing, but he's still got the original motor. "It should probably be in a museum instead of driving around out here like this, but oh well."

also cool old tractors. i want a cool old tractor.

also rolled my eyes at the fucking kid punk band playing on the back of a flatbed trailer. your guitars are bigger than you! you can't use rock & roll to get pussy until you get some pubes! fuckin' kids!

and the Larimer County Republicans came by BLASTING "Proud to be an American" so loud that it was distorting into noisy mush! and there was a tall, homoerotic guy in a sailor outfit standing on top of the truck waving an enormous American flag. he was buxom and flankalicious, oh my yes.

5 or 6 different "Jesus Saves" floats, all advertising different churches (there's more churches than people in this town)

and then the fuckin' El Jebel Shriners with their stupid little cars.

and stuff.
