the information center and restroom facilities at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park burned down.

the Director of the Office of Homeland Security said that there is no indication at this time that this was a terrorist act.

the FBI is investigating the incident.

i don't know why i did this

but i got a strange memory of a guy i went to school with,
and i happened to be at the computer with nothing better to do,
so on a whim i did a Google search of Chris Kappely,
and the very first site on the list was the notice of his death posted by the class of '89 group.

i knew he was dead and all, but for some reason, it still creeps me out thinking about it. especially that i was weirded into not only doing a Google search about him, but that the FIRST ENTRY that came up was about exactly what i was thinking of. normally you type a name into Google and you get reams of family histories.
not only that, but it's also creepy that now i'm weirded into actually writing a post about that guy.

everyone in our class thought he was a fucking loser twat,
which was the only real bond anyone had with him,
but i still sorta pitied him.

after years of purposeful flunking because he didn't want to face the "real" world, he finally graduated with our class at age 21,
due, so the rumour goes, to a talk with the principal, who told him that if he didn't graduate that year, he'd be unable to come back.
considering this, i was speechless when he actually showed up for our 5 year reunion (don't tell me how gay it is that we had a 5 year reunion, and that i actually went, because i know,) especially since he showed up with a walking cane, which i thought was for show at the time, but in retrospect with his failing health, it may have been a necessity.

weird fucking loser guy,
he used to whisper the word "satan" in my ear while walking down the hallway. and that's the fondest memory i have, folks.
