stayed up till 3:30 or so watching. quite pretty, although from the reports i'm reading in some other journals, i ascertain that i probably didn't see the best parts.

i'm sleepy and my neck hurts, but it was worth it.

i got Edwin Tietzel's Muslimgauze Listmembers Originals CD in the mail yesterday. quite a nice compilation. Edwin invited members of the muslimgauze discussion group 'Islamaphonia' to contribute original tracks, reflecting the influence of Bryn Jones' genius.
the tracks by dhex and Do Shaska! are the best, excluding of course my own excellent tracks (polishes fingernails on shirt in haughty assuredness.)

also, i bought Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music Vol. 4, which is a bunch of archival recordings of American music pre-WWII put together by an eccentric occultist, who made art-collage films and collected and studied stuff like Ukranian painted eggs and paper airplanes. good stuff.

apparently does not exist in the post Napster net.

Lamewire locks up my computer,
i d-loaded the supposed next-best thing, 'Mactella', also for the Gnutella network,
and aside from crappy connections, once i do get connected, i can't seem to even get fractions of any files. i'd like to see if the goddamned program is even CAPABLE of working before forming a set opinion on the thing, but it's looking like another stinker.

did someone stand on my eyeballs all night long?
i'm old.
i can't stay up late like that like i used to.

ugh. i wonder if caerie's awake yet?
i'm gonna hefta go to sleep early tonight, maybe a movie rental would be in order?
it's snowing, so all the best stuff will probably be checked out already.

speaking of movies 'Amelie' is playing in Boulder at the Crossroads Commons, surprisingly enough. turns out it's directed by Juenet, one of the guys who did 'Delicatessen' and 'City of Lost Children', both of which give me cinematic hard-on.

this prestigious award goes to the snowplow driver who nearly ran me off the road today. after tailgating me so closely he forced me to drive at a higher speed than i felt safe doing so, seeing as the roads were slushy, and honking his horn at me obnoxiously, when i had no place to pull over, indeed i would have been afraid to actually even attempt to pullover since he was following so closely he might not have seen my brakelights...
he then passed me at high speed throwing so much slush and water on my windshield that i couldn't see anything until he was completely past.

a warm congratulations to you, asshole of the year.
a heartfelt thank you for reminding us how important it is
to drive aggressively and be completely inconsiderate, and to endanger human life,
especially when working in official capacity for the town of Estes Park, Colorado.

a special mention to everyone out there who drives aggressively,
you have a special place in all of our hearts.
