stayed up till 3:30 or so watching. quite pretty, although from the reports i'm reading in some other journals, i ascertain that i probably didn't see the best parts.
i'm sleepy and my neck hurts, but it was worth it.
i got Edwin Tietzel's Muslimgauze Listmembers Originals CD in the mail yesterday. quite a nice compilation. Edwin invited members of the muslimgauze discussion group 'Islamaphonia' to contribute original tracks, reflecting the influence of Bryn Jones' genius.
the tracks by dhex and Do Shaska! are the best, excluding of course my own excellent tracks (polishes fingernails on shirt in haughty assuredness.)
also, i bought Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music Vol. 4, which is a bunch of archival recordings of American music pre-WWII put together by an eccentric occultist, who made art-collage films and collected and studied stuff like Ukranian painted eggs and paper airplanes. good stuff.
