Mr. Ricker handed me an unfinished wax at the end of the day yesterday that he said he would have no time to work on, so could i finish it for him, it needs to be fed ex'ed on friday.
{for those of you who don't know what i'm on about, i work at a factory that produces pewter sculptures by an 'artist' named Michael Ricker. the medium that the sculpting is done in is wax, thus a pre-production sculpture is a "wax".}
i wish he wouldn't count on me to sculpt his pieces for him only in emergency situations. two days even for a prototype is a steep turnaround time, and the wax needed a LOT of work.
not only that, it's going to be a technical NIGHTMARE once i cut out the mold tomorrow morning and get it poured in metal.
the design is way off balance.
i wish he'd find out if any given design is even technically possible before promising the moon to some client.
but at least it's in my hands now, so it'll get done correctly.
and at least this is only an edition of one, so we don't have to make production molds (in which case it would have been impossible.)
by the way, right now i'm irritated that i've sunk to bitching about work on my LJ. grrr. LJ should be a work-free zone.
