autumn

a very autumnal day.
seasonally chilly.

we'll go hunt mushrooms today.
caerie said she saw a lot of agaricus on an evening walk last night.


i keep fantasizing about happy reunions.

exploded tree

we found
a big pine tree that exploded from a lightning strike.
it was blown in two, the upper part rested on the ground, leaning against the shattered trunk. at first i thought it was two trees.

it looked like it had been packed with dynamite and detonated.
there were shards of exploded tree fifty feet away from it.
